What is the truth? The claim of Maithili Thakur or the response of the health minister... Ground report from Aaj Tak in Alinagar

Maithili Thakur, an MLA from Alinagar in Darbhanga district, raised concerns about the dilapidated state of a health and wellness center, stating dissatisfaction with the government's response.

In a recent session of the Bihar Assembly, MLA Maithili Thakur highlighted the poor condition of the Health and Wellness Center located in the Kurso Nadiyami village of her constituency. She expressed her dissatisfaction with the government's announcement regarding the presence of an AYUSH doctor at the facility, refuting the government's assertions by stating that there were once two MBBS doctors posted there, and currently, there are none. Thakur has called for a more thorough inspection to address the decline in medical services.

Following a viral video that brought attention to this issue, an Aaj Tak team conducted a ground report at the Kurso Nadiyami Health and Wellness Center. Their findings revealed concerning disparities between the government's claims and the actual conditions of the facility. Upon reaching the site, the team documented the conditions of both the new and old buildings, as well as a dilapidated government quarter, which were all in shocking disrepair.

The investigation reported that the health center operates only from 10 AM to 2 PM, with limited facilities and a mere five bed capacity. After 2 PM, the health center is locked, restricting access for patients outside these hours. Thakur's call for attention to this matter underscores the critical deficiencies in healthcare infrastructure in rural areas and raises questions about the accountability of local government health initiatives.
