On Wednesday, the Šiauliai County Police reported that an investigation has been launched into fraudulent accounting practices after clarifying the circumstances of a financial crime. The accused, a 1965-born woman from Šiauliai, allegedly embezzled a substantial sum of 35,000 euros from another woman who was engaged in individual entrepreneurship. This embezzlement took place over an extended period from 2013 until January 2026.

The police outlined that the accused managed to siphon off funds by transferring them to her own bank accounts, showing a significant abuse of trust towards the victim, who relied on her to manage her financial affairs. The revelation of this case raises serious concerns about financial accountability and the protection of individual business owners against such fraudulent activities.
