Vilnius police are seeking public assistance to identify individuals involved in a scam that resulted in a woman being defrauded of 14,000 euros.

The Vilnius police are investigating a case in which a woman was defrauded of 14,000 euros on February 17, 2026, between 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM. The initial report indicates that an unidentified individual contacted the victim by phone, claiming that her electrical meter needed to be replaced. This deceptive tactic was used to gain her trust and manipulate her into sharing sensitive information.

Later that same day, around 3:00 PM, a person arrived at the woman's residence in Vilnius under the pretense of addressing the electrical meter issue and took possession of her bank card. Following this, a total of 14,000 euros was withdrawn from her bank account, highlighting the cleverness of the scam and the vulnerability of the victim.

In light of this serious incident, the police are appealing to the public for assistance in identifying the men captured by surveillance cameras at the scene. They have provided contact details for anyone who might recognize the individuals or have additional information regarding the crime, emphasizing the importance of community involvement in resolving such cases.
