Fire in Kretinga district left a large family homeless
A fire in a residential house in Kretinga district has left a family with three children homeless, prompting community support efforts.
In the early hours of Tuesday, the Fire Service Department reported a fire on Upelio Street in Kvecių village, causing significant damage to a two-story wooden house. Firefighters arrived to find flames spreading from the first to the second floor, leading to the destruction of approximately twenty square meters of interior walls and ceilings on both levels. The house was equipped with smoke detectors, which were activated during the incident.
The fire affected a young family raising three children, who fortunately escaped unharmed. The Piligrimų Center reported that the family expressed gratitude that no one was injured, despite the substantial loss they faced. The fire not only damaged their home but has also resulted in numerous everyday challenges that the family must now confront while rebuilding their lives.
Community support is being organized to assist the affected family as they navigate the aftermath of this disaster.
