When is it necessary to stand up, when to play Vande Mataram? Know the new rules
The Indian Home Ministry has issued new rules regarding the national song 'Vande Mataram', stating it must now be sung before the national anthem during official events.
The Home Ministry of India has recently announced new regulations concerning the national song 'Vande Mataram'. According to the guidelines issued by the government, 'Vande Mataram' will now be sung or played before the national anthem 'Jana Gana Mana' at government programs, marking a notable shift in protocol for national events. This change signifies a commitment towards honoring the song, which holds a significant cultural and historical place in Indian identity.
In addition to the order specifying that 'Vande Mataram' should precede the national anthem, it has also been declared mandatory to incorporate the performance of the song at prominent government events. The regulations stipulate that the complete version of the national song, consisting of six stanzas, must be performed within a timeframe of 3 minutes and 10 seconds. This is a marked contrast to the national anthem which lasts approximately 52 seconds, showing a renewed emphasis on the significance of 'Vande Mataram'.
The new regulations further elaborate on when and how one must show respect while the song is being played. Individuals are now required to stand up in reverence during the performance of 'Vande Mataram', similar to the protocol followed during the national anthem. As these rules come into effect, they are expected to foster a deeper sense of national pride and unity as India continues to honor its cultural heritage.
