The South Korean National Police Agency announced that they have applied for pre-indictment forfeiture of criminal proceeds amounting to approximately 1.48 billion won from 67 suspects extradited from Cambodia. The police have included not only their current assets but also future expected proceeds, demonstrating their intent to prevent any forthcoming illegal gains. This initiative aims to undermine the financial benefits of criminal activities such as fraud, which includes various scams that have been under investigation, including no-show reservation fraud and romance scams.

According to the police, only about 248.3 million won of the current assets could be recovered from the suspects, which is notably low because the majority had already exhausted their criminal earnings on living expenses. In light of this, authorities have applied for preservation of future deposit claims amounting to about 1.22 billion won, allowing them to prohibit the disposal of funds that might be deposited in the suspects' accounts in the future. This preemptive measure is intended to eliminate any prospect of profit from their criminal activities, reaffirming the police's commitment to dismantling the financial incentives fueling such crimes.

The police's efforts are backed by testimonies from various investigative divisions, which have successfully analyzed numerous bank accounts related to suspects involved in different scam operations. The police leadership has stated their plan to meticulously track and preserve criminal profits even when higher-tier masterminds are apprehended later. This commitment to disrupt the financial flow of scammers serves as a warning that no profit will come from crime, as resources will be pursued with all available tools until the end.
