In a heartbreaking incident, an 18-year-old student named Soham Kathare lost his life after falling from a local train in Dombivli on the very first day of his class 12 board examinations. The incident occurred on Tuesday morning between the Kalwa and Mumbra railway stations as he was on his way to an examination center located in Kalwa. The suburban train was crowded, and due to this overwhelming crowd, Soham lost his balance while standing at the door, resulting in him falling onto the railway tracks before the Kharegaon gate. Tragically, he died on the spot.
Local residents rushed to the scene upon learning of the accident and quickly took the severely injured Soham to the Thane Civil Hospital. Unfortunately, the doctors declared him dead shortly after arrival around 10:30 am. The railway police have confirmed his death and are currently investigating the case. The incident has sent shockwaves through Dombivli and its surroundings, illustrating the dangers of overcrowding in local trains during peak hours, especially on significant days like board exams when more students are commuting.
The family of the victim is in deep mourning, facing the devastating loss of their young son who was about to appear for his board exams.
