Men dressed as police officers jump over a wall, kidnap a woman and flee with her car, but are caught by the police on a highway in PR
Two men disguised as police officers kidnapped a woman in Paraná, Brazil, but were apprehended by federal police a short time later.
In São Jerônimo da Serra, northern Paraná, a 38-year-old woman was kidnapped by two men who posed as police officers after jumping over the wall of her home, where she lived with her mother. The incident occurred on Tuesday when the attackers took both the woman and her vehicle after pistol-whipping them into submission. Fortunately, the woman's mother, 67, managed to evade any severe harm during the ordeal.
The police investigation revealed that the kidnappers used a red car, which they drove to the vicinity of the victim's house, before approaching on foot. The attackers impersonated civil police officers to create a false sense of security, making it easier to subdue their victims with threats of violence while binding and restraining them. The kidnapping prompted a rapid response from law enforcement.
After the abduction, federal highway police (PRF) launched an immediate search for the vehicle. Within a few hours, they located the kidnappers on BR-369 near Ibiporã, approximately 76 kilometers from the crime scene. Upon being confronted, the kidnappers surrendered quickly, and the victim was safely rescued without any injuries, marking a prompt resolution to a dangerous situation.
