When confronted by the police, the suspect attempted to escape on foot but was apprehended following a brief chase. During his escape attempt, he discarded a bag containing a replica firearm, a fake police badge, handcuffs, and a pocket knife. The police reported that such equipment is often associated with individuals trying to deceive citizens and obstruct justice.
Upon further investigation, it was revealed that the suspect was a repeat offender, having previously been charged with the crime of usurpation of public office in São José do Rio Preto.
