Death of a UFAL professor: Arapiraca IML requests toxicological tests
Alagoas' Scientific Police have requested toxicological tests following the death of Carlos Alberto de Carvalho Fraga, a professor at the Federal University of Alagoas.
The death of Carlos Alberto de Carvalho Fraga, a 38-year-old professor from the Federal University of Alagoas (UFAL), has prompted the Scientific Police of Alagoas to request supplementary tests to ascertain the cause of death. Dr. Guilherme Paiva, the forensic physician from the Medical Legal Institute in Arapiraca overseeing the autopsy, reported that the body did not show signs of physical violence, which led to the request for toxicological analyses.
Samples of biological materials were collected from the deceased and sent to the Forensic Laboratory for toxicological testing. According to Dr. Paiva, the results from these tests will be crucial in clarifying the circumstances surrounding Fraga's death, helping to determine whether any external or clinical factors may have contributed. The Scientific Police are awaiting the completion of these analyses to issue a definitive autopsy report.
