On the afternoon of Tuesday, October 10, a still unidentified man was shot dead after invading the headquarters of a nonprofit organization in São Bernardo do Campo, a city in the metropolitan region of São Paulo. The organization, known as Associação Beneficente Lar do Progredir Infinito, offers social assistance to children and adolescents living in vulnerable situations. Police were called to the scene due to an emergency, where the man allegedly threatened individuals present at the location.

Upon police arrival around 3:15 PM, the man exhibited aggressive behavior and advanced toward the officers in a hostile manner. In response to his actions, the police officers used force, resulting in the man being shot in the chest and abdomen. Although he was given medical assistance, he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries at the scene, highlighting the tragic turn of events that unfolded in what is supposed to be a place of refuge for at-risk youth.
