The restaurant shortage at Yyteri beach will end next summer โ demand finally rises at sales locations as rents are lowered
The city of Pori has selected four restaurants to operate at Yyteri beach, responding to increased demand after lowering rental fees for the sites.
The city of Pori, Finland has announced the selection of four restaurants to operate at the container restaurant area near Yyteri beach for the upcoming summer season. The restaurants chosen include R-kioski, Jungle Juice Bar, An Thai Suomi Lounas, and Twist nโ Sol. This decision comes after significant growth in demand for restaurant locations, compared to the previous year when only two entrepreneurs showed interest in the area. To stimulate increased offerings at Yyteri, the city reduced rental fees from 2,500 euros to 1,500 euros for the three summer months.
Last summer, Yyteri beach faced a shortage of restaurant options, compounded by the closure of the spa hotel prior to the beach season, which also led to the shutting down of an associated beach restaurant. The chairman of the management board of the spa hotel, Mikko Haaslahti, confirmed that these changes are aimed at enhancing the service offerings in the area to attract more visitors. The city received a total of seven applications for the restaurant locations, with the final selections made based on brand strength and service offerings.
The initiative to lower rental prices and increase restaurant presence comes at a crucial time for Yyteri as the region seeks to revive its appeal as a summer destination in Finland. The upcoming summer season is expected to bring in more visitors than in previous years, providing an opportunity for the newly selected restaurants to thrive and contribute to the local economy. This move is seen as a vital step in addressing the past shortages and improving the overall experience for beachgoers and tourists alike.
