Ione Belarra, the secretary general of Podemos, is scheduled to appear in court on June 23 in Madrid following a lawsuit by retired judge Manuel García Castellón. The lawsuit stems from remarks made by Belarra in September 2024, in which she called García Castellón 'corrupt' and accused him of misconduct as a judge. The retired judge, in turn, is seeking compensation of 240,000 euros for the alleged defamation.
