In Härnösand shapes the future Olympic medalists - the curling high school delivers
Härnösand's Curling Club has become a leading talent factory for Olympic curling champions since the sport's return to the Olympics in 1998.
Since curling regained its place in the Olympic program in 1998, Härnösand's Curling Club has established itself as one of the world's leading talent factories. With two Olympic gold medals to its name, the club, founded in 1845, has made a significant impact on international sports history. Prominent athletes who have emerged from this club continue to shape the future of curling on the world stage.
Among today's top athletes are Anna Hasselborg, Agnes Knochenhauer, Sofia Mabergs, and coach Kristian Lindström, all of whom have attended the Härnösand curling high school. Additionally, Niklas Edin, Oskar Eriksson, coach Alexander Lindström, national coach Fredrik Lindberg, and reserve Simon Olofsson also share a background from the same institution. This legacy of excellence illustrates the school's role in fostering talent that competes at the highest levels.
Despite the pressures that might come with such a prestigious background, current student Ludvig Rönnlund reassures that the supportive coaching staff creates an understanding environment conducive to elite ambitions without feeling overwhelming pressure. The club's highlight is undoubtedly Team Anette Norberg, which has written a remarkable chapter in both the club's and the country's sports narratives, contributing to a strong trajectory of Swedish curling success.
