Kristjan Ilves has demonstrated impressive jumping form during training for the Milan Cortina Winter Olympics.

Kristjan Ilves, the Estonian Nordic combined athlete, has been showcasing excellent jumping skills in the training sessions for the upcoming Milan Cortina Winter Olympics. On Monday, he recorded jumps of 101, 99, and 106 meters, placing fourth, eighth, and third in the respective training jumps. Continuing this trend, he began Tuesday's training with a jump of 102 meters, achieving a score of 79.2, which earned him fifth place overall.

During the second round, Ilves improved to 104.5 meters, scored 78.1 points, and secured the fourth-best jump. The third training round saw him jump 103 meters, earning 80 points, and ranking just behind Ilkka Herola. The training jumps for Nordic combined are ranked based solely on distance and wind compensation, without style points, emphasizing the focus on technical performance rather than aesthetics.

Additionally, fellow Estonian Ruubert Teder participated in the training sessions, jumping 85, 86.5, and 93.5 meters. Despite his first two jumps placing him near the bottom of the rankings, his final jump placed him 30th out of 34 competitors, reflecting the competitive nature of the training rounds as athletes prepare for the challenges of the Olympics. Overall, Ilves's strong form bodes well as he heads into the high-pressure environment of the Olympic Games.
