Luxury car catches fire on BR-135 after driver notices smoke in the hood
A luxury car caught fire on highway BR-135 in Brazil, but the driver escaped injury after detecting smoke and pulling over.
A luxury vehicle experienced a fire incident on the BR-135 highway near the toll plaza operated by Eco-135, between the towns of Bocaiuva and Montes Claros, during the evening of Monday, September 9th. The 40-year-old driver reported that he noticed smoke emanating from the hood of his Land Rover Evoque while driving, prompting him to pull over and attempt to extinguish the flames using an extinguisher, but he was unsuccessful in doing so.
Upon arrival, firefighters found the vehicle completely engulfed in flames, producing significant amounts of smoke and heat. After ensuring the safety of the surrounding area, the fire brigade undertook the firefighting efforts using approximately 4,000 liters of water to control the blaze. Fortunately, the driver managed to safely exit the vehicle without sustaining any injuries in the incident.
At the same time, the causes of the fire remained undetermined, and traffic in that section of the highway was managed by Eco-135 teams while the fire was being extinguished. This incident highlights potential safety concerns for luxury vehicles regarding fire risks, prompting discussions about vehicle maintenance and rapid response in such emergencies.
