'I didn't even worry about the car, I just thanked,' says father of children who jumped from moving car after releasing handbrake during play in PR

The father of twin boys in Brazil expressed gratitude that his children were unharmed after they jumped from a moving car that rolled away when one boy accidentally released the handbrake while playing.

In a surprising incident in Francisco Beltrão, Paraná, the father, Willian Furlan, recounted the moment his twin sons, aged six, jumped from a moving car. The car had been left parked with the driver's door open while the boys were listening to music; however, during their play, one of them accidentally released the handbrake. The vehicle began rolling towards a steep slope, prompting the children to jump out to avoid potential harm. Fortunately, they landed safely without injury.

The events unfolded on January 17, when Willian had stepped away momentarily to retrieve an item from a nearby barn. Security footage captured the shocking moment when the boys leapt from the slowly rolling car. Willian expressed a sense of relief that neither child's safety was compromised in the incident, emphasizing the emotional connection between him and his children as they embraced afterward.

This incident highlights the importance of ensuring that vehicles are securely parked and the dangers that can arise during seemingly innocent play. Although the children emerged unscathed, the situation serves as a cautionary tale for parents regarding vehicle safety and supervision, especially when young children are involved in or around cars.
