A heavy rainstorm hit Barra Mansa, Rio de Janeiro, on Monday night (9), leading to severe weather-related damage including landslides and building collapses. Reports indicate that at least five individuals, including a five-year-old child in critical condition, were injured due to the catastrophic weather events. There were also two cases of river overflow in the Barra Mansa and Bocaina rivers as well as the collapse of a bridge due to the torrential rains.
