Exhibition 'Geoprocesses' in Ogre invites discussion and interactive workshop on human-nature relationships

An exhibition in Ogre will host a public discussion and interactive workshop focused on human interactions with nature.

The 'Geoprocesses' exhibition at the Ogre History and Art Museum is set to host a public discussion on February 21, from 1 PM to 2:30 PM, under the title 'Nature-Based Solutions: Opportunity, Delusion, or Comfort?'. This event will feature experts from environmental geography and design, who will explore society's readiness to implement nature-based solutions, along with the associated challenges and issues. Participating in the discussion will be notable figures such as PhD candidate Karīna Ješkina, researcher Annija Danenberga, and project manager Anda Ruskule, guided by Associate Professor Anni Sauka from the University of Latvia.

After the discussion, attendees will have the chance to view the ongoing 'Geoprocesses' exhibition, enjoy snacks prepared by the museum, and engage in conversations. The event extends into an interactive workshop from 3:30 PM to 5 PM, providing an additional opportunity for hands-on experience, labeled 'Element Games: Discovering, Feeling, Remembering'. This workshop is designed to deepen the participants' understanding of the exhibition's themes and encourage engagement with nature-related solutions in a practical manner.

This initiative highlights the growing awareness and discourse surrounding environmental solutions in Latvia, emphasizing the role of community engagement in addressing ecological issues. By providing a platform for experts to share insights and for the public to interactively participate, the event serves as a significant step toward fostering understanding and collaboration between people and the natural world.
