She is a physical trainer and opened a gym for seniors: "One must not lose autonomy"

María Pilar Rosales, a physical trainer and former music therapist, opened a gym aimed at seniors focusing on maintaining their autonomy after a life-changing accident.

María Pilar Rosales, a professional with degrees in music therapy, functional training, and personal training, has dedicated her career to working with the elderly. After initially focusing on younger populations, she found her true passion in helping seniors maintain their physical well-being. Her journey took a dramatic turn when she survived a serious car accident that prompted her to refocus her life on sports and wellness, particularly for older adults.

Following her accident in 2022, where a reckless driver left her in a life-threatening situation, María returned to her hometown of La Plata. This personal crisis catalyzed a shift in her career, as she realized that music therapy was no longer fulfilling her emotionally. Instead, she embraced her love for sports, opening a gym specifically for seniors. Her aim is to help this demographic maintain their autonomy and quality of life through tailored fitness programs.

Her facility not only provides a space for physical training but fosters a supportive community for seniors. María emphasizes the importance of staying active to prolong autonomy in old age, showcasing how physical health is intertwined with overall mental and emotional well-being. As she embarks on this venture, she hopes to inspire others to see the possibilities for healthy aging through exercise, proving that age does not have to be a barrier to maintaining independence.
