Winds will ease and it will cool tonight
The weather forecast predicts a decrease in wind and lower temperatures tonight in Iceland, with a range of 0 to 6 degrees Celsius.
The Icelandic Meteorological Office has issued a weather forecast indicating that winds will decrease tonight, resulting in cooler temperatures across the country. Currently, wind speeds are expected to reach 10 to 18 meters per second in northeastern areas, particularly on the Westfjords and southern coastline, which may bring some snow or sleet showers to the north and east. However, conditions are anticipated to improve in the southwestern regions, leading to warmer temperatures, particularly in the south.
Looking ahead to tomorrow, the forecasts suggest winds of 8 to 13 m/s from the northeast, with milder conditions in the northeastern parts of the country. There is expected to be light snow for northern and eastern regions while other areas enjoy mostly clear skies. Daytime frost is predicted, with temperatures ranging from 0 to 5 degrees, signaling a cold spell ahead.
For Thursday, the forecast indicates a continuation of the northeast winds at similar speeds across the eastern part of the country, with calmer conditions elsewhere. Brief precipitation is likely in the northern areas, but mostly sunny conditions are predicted in the southern highlands. Overall, colder temperatures are expected, ranging from 2 to 10 degrees during the day, indicating that the winter chill is set to persist throughout the week.
