Frost will tighten this evening
A forecast predicts freezing temperatures across Iceland, particularly in the north and east.
The Icelandic Meteorological Office has reported that tonight will bring frosty conditions across the country, with temperatures expected to range from 0 to 5 degrees Celsius during the day. The forecast indicates a northward wind of 3 to 8 meters per second, becoming a bit stronger in the eastern parts of the country. Light snow showers are anticipated in the northern and eastern regions, while the rest of the country is likely to experience dry weather.
The forecast for tomorrow suggests a light variable wind with generally bright weather, although isolated snow showers may occur in the north and east. Winds will strengthen from the east in the afternoon, reaching speeds of 5 to 13 meters per second, and up to 18 meters per second along the southern coast. Daytime temperatures are expected to remain within the 0 to 5 degrees Celsius range, with freezing temperatures in the evening.
On Sunday, a continued east wind of 5 to 13 meters per second will prevail with occasionally sunny spells, particularly in the southern region, along with persistent snow flurries in the northern and eastern parts at the start of the day. Overall, conditions may remain dry for much of the country, with temperatures expected to range from 1 to 6 degrees Celsius, potentially hovering just above freezing along the southern coastline. These weather patterns suggest that while there may be mild conditions at times, the risk of frost will remain significant throughout the weekend.
