Ikea recalls wall lamp – risk of electric shock

Ikea is recalling its Nymåne wall lamps due to a risk of electric shock from a production fault.

Ikea has announced a recall of its Nymåne wall lamps owing to a potential risk of electric shock. The issue arises from inadequate insulation of the wiring, which poses a safety hazard to customers who own these products. The company has released a statement urging customers to stop using the affected lamps immediately and to contact Ikea for a full refund.

The recalled products include various models of the Nymåne wall/reading lamps, identifiable by specific article numbers: 203.569.09 for the white variant, 504.152.24 for the anthracite gray variant, and 204.286.47 for the double white lamp. Customers can check for the recall by looking at the date marking and supplier number, particularly those marked between 2217 and 2550 with supplier number 23241. To locate these identifiers, they must remove the bulb to find the sticker inside the lampshade or check the back of the lamp.

This recall highlights Ikea's commitment to customer safety and proactive measures in addressing potential hazards in its products. It serves as a reminder for consumers to stay informed about product recalls, especially those concerning electrical items that can pose serious risks if not addressed promptly.
