They have formally requested the Lok Sabha Speaker, Om Birla, to take strict action against these members following a disruptive incident on February 4, 2026. The BJP women MPs described this incident as 'the darkest moment in democratic history' in a letter they submitted to the Speaker, highlighting the need for upholding decorum in the House.

In their letter, the BJP women MPs pointed out that the opposition's conduct during the Presidential address thank-you motion debate was unbecoming. They accused the opposition members of not only breaching the decorum of the House but also engaging in physical disruptions by entering the well of the House, climbing onto tables, and tearing up government documents, actions that they claim tarnish the sanctity of democratic institutions.
