Shin Yu-bin, a 21-year-old table tennis player from Korea Air, has made a significant contribution of 50 million won to support aspiring young players in the Korean table tennis community. The donation was presented during the 'KTTA Awards 2026' ceremony held at the JW Marriott Dongdaemun Square in Seoul. The funds will specifically assist in covering the costs of overseas training and enhancing the competitive capabilities of elementary school students involved in table tennis.
The young athlete, who is also the advertising model for the energy gel Yohemite, shared that part of her earnings from the advertisement has been allocated for this charitable cause. She expressed her hopes that the next generation of players can train in better conditions than she did and realize their dreams. In her statement, Shin emphasized the importance of giving back, describing her donations as a source of motivation akin to a phone being plugged into a charger.

By investing in the training of young table tennis players, she not only uplifts the sport at the grassroots level but also inspires others to participate in similar charitable actions, fostering a community-oriented spirit within the athletic world.
