In Mexico, a new opportunity for older adults and women aged 60 to 64 is set to open as registration for the Welfare Pensions begins in February 2023. The Ministry of Welfare has announced that the registration process will allow these demographics to apply for financial support, aimed at enhancing their economic well-being. The announcement was made by Secretary Ariadna Montiel Reyes during a press conference held on February 9, signifying the government's efforts to include more individuals in social support programs.

The registration for the Welfare Pensions will occur from February 16 to February 22 at designated Welfare modules across the country, operating from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. This initiative reflects the Mexican government's commitment to providing essential financial resources to its older population, particularly emphasizing the importance of social welfare for adults over 65 years of age. Eligible adults will receive a bimonthly payment of 6,400 pesos, while women aged 60 to 64 who enroll in the Women's Welfare Pension will receive 3,100 pesos every two months.
