ABUAD, airline partner on training engineering students
United Nigeria Airlines has partnered with Afe Babalola University to provide industrial training for its engineering students.
United Nigeria Airlines has entered into a partnership with Afe Babalola University (ABUAD) to facilitate the industrial training of engineering students at the airline's facilities. This collaboration is formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in Ado Ekiti by the university's Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Smaranda Olarinde, who highlighted the benefits of this agreement, particularly in providing students with a robust, hands-on, and industry-driven curriculum in Aeronautical and Aerospace Engineering.
Under the terms of the MoU, approximately 20 senior engineering students from ABUAD's College of Engineering will be enrolled annually in a Student Industrial Work Experience Scheme at United Nigeria Airlines. This initiative aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and practical application in the aviation industry, thus enhancing the employability of graduates by equipping them with necessary skills and experiences.
The partnership is designed to last for a renewable period of 10 years, signifying a long-term investment in human capital development and skills transfer. It underscores the commitment of both institutions to grooming a new generation of professionals adept in aviation engineering, ultimately benefiting the broader Nigerian aviation sector.
