MPC points out irregularity in the purchase of R$ 46 million in digital boards made by the Sorocaba City Hall

The public prosecutor has indicated irregularities in the acquisition of R$ 46 million worth of digital boards by the Sorocaba City Hall, leading to allegations of overpricing.

The Ministry of Public Accounts (MPC) has declared irregularities regarding the 2021 purchase of R$ 46 million in digital boards by the Sorocaba City Hall. This procurement occurred in the first year of Rodrigo Manga's mandate, who is colloquially known as the "TikTok mayor". Following a federal court ruling, Manga is currently suspended from his position since November 6. The public's attention was initially captured by a prior report from the São Paulo State Court of Auditors (TCE-SP), which indicated that for every R$ 4 spent, R$ 1 was inflated, resulting in an estimated R$ 11 million being overcharged.
