During the 47th anniversary celebration of Iran’s National Day in Abuja, Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed praised Iran as an essential global partner with considerable potential for collaboration in trade, agriculture, and industrial development. He emphasized the importance of fostering stronger economic and cultural ties between Nigeria and Iran, indicating that such partnerships could significantly benefit both nations.

Governor Mohammed also addressed and sought to dispel negative perceptions surrounding Iran, stating that despite various criticisms, Iran has proven to be a friend to marginalized communities by providing assistance and empowerment quietly. He highlighted the contributions Iran has made to support downtrodden communities, underscoring that these efforts should not go unnoticed.

Furthermore, the governor noted that his attendance at this event was a testament to the significance of Iran within Africa's broader context of global relations, especially in enhancing trade and commerce between Africa and Iran.
