The Federal Government of Nigeria has initiated the implementation of a significant aspect of its renegotiated agreement with the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), focused on enhancing salary-related allowances for university staff. Particularly, the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, disclosed that the government has started administering a 40% increase in the Consolidated Academic Allowance of ASUU members, which will be effective starting from January 1, 2026.
