Amapá honey reaches the European market after an agreement signed in Dubai

Honey produced in Amapá has entered the international market following a partnership established at the Gulfood fair in Dubai, allowing for export to Europe.

Honey from Amapá has made its debut on the international market thanks to a partnership formed during the Gulfood fair in Dubai. This initiative involves Brazilian cooperatives, notably the Coorpermel Amapá, which is the first cooperative of beekeepers in the state. The cooperative plans to export up to 10 tons of this honey to Italy, signifying a significant step in expanding Amapá's agricultural products to global markets.

The agreement signed at Gulfood, one of the world's largest food industry fairs, strengthens what is being referred to as the 'honey route' from the Amazon region to international markets. This collaboration is supported by the Brazilian Ministry of Integration and Regional Development. Additionally, it includes participation from other cooperatives, such as Coopemapi from Minas Gerais and Carpil from Alagoas, showcasing a united front in promoting Brazilian agricultural exports.

This export model allows Amapá's honey to leverage existing processing and quality assurance infrastructures, ensuring compliance with European market standards. The development is expected to enhance the visibility of Amazonian products on the global stage and may lead to more opportunities for local producers, thereby contributing to the region's economic growth and sustainability.
