Pasi Viheraho sat on the ground and refused to move – the verdict came
Finnish YouTuber Pasi Viheraho has been fined for obstructing traffic after filming a train's departure, causing delays for 120 passengers.
Pasi Viheraho, a Finnish YouTuber, was found guilty of traffic disruption for interfering with the departure of a museum train in Lahti in July 2024. His actions, which stemmed from filming the train's movement, resulted in a 30-minute delay for 120 passengers on board, while another train had to pass the station cautiously due to the incident. Subsequently, Viheraho was removed from the area by police.
Despite the charges, Viheraho defended himself in court, claiming that he did not cause significant harm to public rail service. He presented his own videos and photographs from the incident as evidence to support his argument. The court, however, found that the footage confirmed his actions did indeed obstruct rail operations, leading to his conviction and resulting fines.
Viheraho, who has nearly 80,000 followers on his YouTube channel, has also made efforts to enter political office, receiving 512 votes in Finland's last parliamentary elections while representing the Finns Party. This case may raise questions about the balance between public creativity on platforms like YouTube and the responsibilities that come with such actions in public spaces.
