Heat supply restored in one of Kyiv neighbourhoods
Heating has been restored in the Troieshchyna district of Kyiv, which suffered significant damage from Russian strikes.
Heating has recently been restored in Troieshchyna, one of Kyiv's districts most severely impacted by Russian attacks on thermal generation facilities. The restoration efforts were acknowledged during a visit by Aliona Shkrum, the First Deputy Minister for Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine, and EU Ambassador to Ukraine, Katarína Mathernová. They noted the importance of this restoration, given the area's distress due to the ongoing conflict.
Aliona Shkrum highlighted that the successful restoration was the result of continuous efforts by emergency teams, comprising 176 crews and 840 workers, including personnel from other regions and Ukrainian Railways. This collective effort was crucial in ensuring that heating could be restored as quickly as possible to those in need, showing strong coordination and resilience among various sectors in response to the crisis.
Despite the resumption of heating services, Shkrum advised residents that the buildings would still require some time to fully warm up, which could take several days. Efforts to defrost individual risers and address local faults in residential structures and public facilities are ongoing, emphasizing the complexities involved in restoring essential services even as the immediate crisis begins to abate.
