A cotton candy vendor in Cascavel, Paraná, was arrested after he was caught filming a two-year-old girl without her mother's consent. The incident came to light when the child's mother noticed the vendor pointing his phone towards her daughter while she was playing in the park. When the mother confronted him, he became agitated and attempted to delete the recorded videos before the police arrived.

However, the police investigation continued, and with the collection of additional evidence, the police were able to secure a preventive arrest order from the courts. This resulted in the vendor's re-arrest on Saturday, August 7. The operation was carried out by the Civil Police's Child Protection Unit, which focuses on safeguarding children from video-related crimes.
