Candy Floss Seller Who Filmed 2-Year-Old Child in Park Arrested in Paraná
A 70-year-old candy floss vendor was arrested in Paraná, Brazil, after being investigated for filming a two-year-old child in a park.
A 70-year-old man, who made his living as a candy floss vendor, has been arrested in Cascavel, Paraná, following an investigation by the Civil Police into inappropriate filming of a two-year-old child at a public playground. The order for his preventive detention was carried out by the police with assistance from the Municipal Guard, in response to prior reports and following the completion of judicial proceedings. Previously, the suspect had been arrested in January but was released due to insufficient evidence at the time.
The incident took place at the Ciro Nardi Sports Center, where the child's mother observed the man pointing his phone towards her daughter while she was playing. Upon confronting him, the suspect exhibited nervous behavior and attempted to delete the video he had taken. This prompted further investigation by the Child and Adolescent Protection Unit, known as Nucria, which compiled additional evidentiary material to support the need for his re-arrest.
This case raises serious concerns about child safety in public spaces and highlights the importance of community vigilance and response in protecting vulnerable individuals. The ongoing investigation aims to uncover any further details regarding the suspect's activities and to ensure the safety of children within the area. It also reflects broader societal issues concerning the implications of technology and privacy in everyday life, particularly in relation to minors.
