In a serious incident on the MT-140 highway, a 69-year-old man became trapped in the wreckage of his Toyota Hilux following a collision with a parked Volvo truck. The accident occurred in the early hours of Monday, October 9, near the town of Sorriso, which is located approximately 420 km from Cuiabá. Reports indicate that the truck was partially obstructing the lane when the pickup struck it, leading to the driver's entrapment in the vehicle's wreckage.

Emergency services responded promptly to the scene, with a local health unit arriving shortly after to provide initial medical assistance. Policemen from the local military force promptly cordoned off the roadway with cones to ensure safety during the rescue operation. Although the driver was found trapped, emergency responders worked diligently to extract him and subsequently transported him by ambulance to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
