On Saturday afternoon, November 7, two young men, Warleson Pinheiro Mendes Costa and Jackson Rômulo Machado de Souza, were shot dead in a residence in the Santo Antônio neighborhood of Alto Alegre do Maranhão, approximately 219 kilometers from São Luís. The incident occurred while the victims and a group of individuals were socializing and consuming alcoholic beverages when approximately four armed men invaded the home and opened fire.

According to the Maranhão Civil Police, initial reports indicate that the gunmen specifically targeted the two young men during the assault, resulting in their immediate deaths on the scene. The police are continuing to gather evidence and eyewitness accounts to develop a clearer picture of the events that took place. As of now, there are no suspects or clear motives identified for this violent act.
