This year, you can vote for Eesti Laul even outside of Estonia

Eesti Laul has expanded its voting capabilities this year by allowing online voting from anywhere in the world.

Eesti Laul, Estonia's annual song contest, is expanding its voting options this year by introducing a web voting platform accessible to Estonians and fans of the competition worldwide. This marks the first time that voting is available online, alongside traditional voting methods such as phone calls and SMS. The web voting platform, hosted at eestilaul.vote, uses a system that has previously been successfully implemented in the Eurovision and other national competitions, thus giving it a proven track record.

Voters can cast their votes for the finalists using three methods: by phone (limited to calls from within Estonia), via SMS, or through the new online portal. Each participant can cast up to 20 votes per round, and the cost for online voting matches that of calling in, which is set at 1.40 euros. This initiative aims to engage a broader audience and enable everyone who supports the entrants to participate in the voting process, regardless of their geographic location.

The online voting will be officially opened during the contest kickoff at 19:30 on Saturday. Votes will be tallied from both an international jury and the audience, with the results determining which three artists will advance to the superfinaal. This change promises to increase viewer participation and may influence the competition dynamics, making it more inclusive for Estonians residing abroad and fans from other countries.
