A tragic incident occurred on BR-101 in Guarapari, located in the Metropolitan Region of Vitória, where a pedestrian was struck and killed in the early hours of Monday, September 9. The Federal Highway Police reported that around 3:40 AM, the first vehicle hit the pedestrian, resulting in immediate death at the scene. The driver of this vehicle later reported to the Guarapari operational unit of the police, revealing the somber aftermath of the collision.

The situation worsened shortly thereafter, as a second driver, upon noticing the fallen pedestrian, attempted to brake sharply to avoid further tragedy. This evasive action, however, led to a third vehicle colliding with the rear of the second car, causing it to roll over. The consequences of this sudden series of events directed both vehicles off the roadway and into the surrounding vegetation, complicating recovery efforts as well as adding to the trauma of the crash.

Fortunately, the drivers of the second and third vehicles escaped serious injury, but two passengers in the rolled vehicle sustained injuries, highlighting the chaotic and dangerous conditions on this busy highway. This series of incidents on the BR-101 raises concerns about pedestrian safety and traffic management in that area, prompting calls for better measures to protect vulnerable road users.
