airBaltic does not foresee delays for upcoming Monday flights from Riga
Latvian national airline airBaltic does not predict delays for its upcoming Monday flights from Riga after facing some disruptions due to freezing fog earlier in the morning.
airBaltic, the national airline of Latvia, has announced that it does not expect any delays for the remaining Monday flights from Riga. This statement was made by Augusts Zilberts, the head of public and political relations for the airline, following a morning of disruptions caused by freezing fog and low temperatures that delayed some outgoing flights from Riga. Both outgoing and incoming flights were affected due to these adverse weather conditions, indicating the impact such seasonal weather can have on air travel.
Earlier reports indicated that the airline's operations were significantly impacted in the morning hours as the weather caused a backlog in flight schedules. Despite this, airBaltic has asserted that they are taking actions to address these issues promptly, reinforcing their commitment to maintaining flight schedules as much as possible. The company is optimistic about its operational adjustments which aim to minimize the effects of the weather on aviation.
In terms of financial performance, airBaltic has seen an increase in revenue, reaching 594.3 million euros in the first nine months of 2025, alongside a profit of 4.2 million euros. However, the airline reported audited losses of 118.2 million euros in 2024, contrasting with the profits recorded the previous year. The airline's revenue grew by 11.9% compared to 2023, reflecting a recoverable trend in its operations, particularly after Lufthansa acquired a stake in airBaltic at the end of August last year, highlighting the ongoing developments in the airline's corporate landscape.
