Presidente Dutra Bridge has slow traffic and congestion towards Juazeiro this Monday
Traffic is slow on the Presidente Dutra Bridge heading towards Juazeiro due to a mechanical issue with a micro-bus.
On the Presidente Dutra Bridge, traffic is notably slow today as reported by the Municipal Mobility Authority of Petrolina (Ammpla). Live camera footage indicates significant congestion leading up to the bridge, particularly on the Viaduto dos Barranqueiros, where vehicles are backed up connecting the BR-407 to the Asa Branca gas station and Avenida Sete de Setembro. Additionally, drivers coming from the Orla of Petrolina are experiencing delays while those heading from Juazeiro to Petrolina find the bridge clear.
The slowdown is attributed to a mechanical failure of a micro-bus that occurred around 6:30 am on Avenue Santos Dumont near Via Show. Since the incident, traffic has been restricted to just one lane, exacerbating congestion for commuters. The AMTT of Juazeiro has acknowledged this situation, which has impacted peak morning travel times for many residents.
As the issue persists, local authorities are likely to monitor the situation closely and may implement traffic management strategies to alleviate the flow. Commuters are advised to seek alternative routes or to plan their travel times to avoid peak hours as the response to the mechanical failure is addressed and traffic resumes its normal flow on the bridge.
