Works on footbridge cause detours in both directions of the Dutra, in Caçapava, starting this Wednesday (18)
Construction work on a footbridge in Caçapava, Brazil, is causing traffic detours on the Dutra highway in both directions.
Construction work is set to take place on a footbridge alongside the Presidente Dutra Highway in Caçapava, São Paulo, leading to traffic disruptions on the night of Wednesday, the 18th, and into the early morning of Thursday, the 19th. The work will specifically impact the stretch of highway near kilometer 129, where momentary traffic stoppages may occur as construction crews lift beams for the footbridge.
At 10 PM on Wednesday, traffic heading towards Rio de Janeiro will be rerouted via an existing access ramp, with a return planned after the footbridge. Meanwhile, at 1 AM on Thursday, the detour for traffic heading towards São Paulo will be implemented approximately 500 meters prior to the footbridge. These traffic adjustments are anticipated to conclude by 5 AM, allowing for the normal flow of vehicles in both directions to resume without long-term interruptions.
This construction project is significant for ensuring the safety and accessibility of pedestrians utilizing the footbridge, reflecting the ongoing infrastructure improvements in Brazil’s highways. However, it also highlights the challenges faced by commuters during such necessary upgrades, necessitating adequate communication and planning to minimize delays and disruptions on a major transportation route like the Presidente Dutra.
