The city government of Salgueiro, located in the Sertão region of Pernambuco, Brazil, has released the complete programming for the upcoming Carnival celebration taking place from February 13 to 17, 2026. This year’s festivities will honor the 80th anniversary of the traditional cultural festival Bicharada, created by Mestre Jaime, showcasing the rich cultural history of the region. Music events will be plentiful, involving performances on electric trios and stages located in multiple venues throughout Salgueiro, including the Bomba and Multicultural poles, and in the nearby districts of Umãs and Conceição das Crioulas.
