Satakunta Welfare Area Begins Cooperation Negotiations โ€“ Affects Over 200 Employees

The Satakunta welfare area is initiating cooperation negotiations that may lead to job losses for nearly 20 employees, impacting over 200 staff in various departments.

The Satakunta welfare area in Finland has announced the start of cooperation negotiations that could result in job losses for as many as 20 employees. The officials have indicated that a maximum of 210 personnel may be affected by potential staffing changes. The organization is attempting to mitigate layoffs by offering alternative positions within the organization to the impacted workers.

These negotiations will primarily affect the sectors responsible for services for children, youth, and families, as well as adult services, elderly care, and psychiatric services. The aim of the negotiations is to achieve savings of 8.5 million euros. The proposal for the negotiations was presented to staff representatives last Friday, and the discussions are set to commence this Friday, lasting for six weeks unless an agreement is reached sooner between the negotiating parties.

The planned measures are expected to lead to changes in job roles, work locations, and working hours for the employees. This process highlights ongoing efforts in Finland to adjust staffing in welfare sectors, reflecting broader economic challenges and the need for improved efficiency in public services.
