Svana Helen Björnsdóttir has been appointed as the new CEO of Reykjalundur, having served in an interim capacity since last November.
Svana Helen Björnsdóttir has recently been appointed as the new CEO of Reykjalundur, an important rehabilitation center in Iceland. She has been acting as CEO since the previous director resigned at the end of November last year. Svana Helen holds a PhD in systems engineering from the University of Reykjavik and is also an adjunct professor at the same institution. In her role, she also serves as a municipal representative in Seltjarnarnes and is involved in various organizations, including the board of SORPA bs. and is the vice-chair of the SL pension fund.
Reykjalundur is a non-profit limited company owned by SÍBS and is celebrating its 80th anniversary this year. Throughout its history, nearly 50,000 individuals have benefited from its rehabilitation services, making it a key provider in the region. With the new leadership in place, including Sólveig Hildur Björnsdóttir, who has been elected as the chairperson of the board, Reykjalundur is expected to continue its mission of providing vital rehabilitation services to those in need.
