Ca' Rugate between the white of Soave and the Vermouth of Amarone

A family-owned winery in Italy celebrates a century of producing classic Soave wines while introducing a rare Vermouth from Amarone, alongside an educational event promoting wine culture.

In Montecchia di Crosara, Italy, Ca' Rugate winery is commemorating four generations and a century of producing classic Soave wine. This week, the winery is particularly notable for its introduction of a rare 'Vermouth di Amarone della Valpolicella docg', crafted from a unique botanical recipe including herbs like artemisia, absinthe, hops, marjoram, and chamomile, lending it a spicy and balsamic harmony.

The occasion is organized by sommelier trio Silvia Costantino, Angela Costanzo, and Barbara Ziggiotto, who have launched 'Eva wine' to enhance wine culture. The event, hosted at the rooftop of Ristorante Piazza dei Mestieri, not only showcases exquisite culinary offerings but also supports educational initiatives aimed at helping youth at risk of social exclusion and dropout from school, bringing a community-focused aspect to the celebration of wine.

Ca' Rugate’s contribution extends beyond mere winemaking; it intertwines with local history and social responsibility. By hosting this meaningful event, the winery highlights the significance of education and community engagement, ensuring that wine culture is not only cherished but also shared with those who might otherwise drift toward marginalization.
