USA wins gold medals in ice dancing team competition

On Sunday, the USA figure skating team achieved a remarkable victory in the team competitions at the Milan and Cortina Olympic Games, clinching gold medals in a thrilling event. Ilya Malinin led the men's competition, earning the highest score of 200.03 points, which helped his team secure ten points, while Japan's Shun Sato followed closely with a score of 194.86 points, contributing nine points to his team's total. In addition to Malinin's impressive performance, the American ice dancing couple Madison Chock and Evan Bates earned the maximum points of 20, solidifying their team's success. The overall Olympic champions not only included the outstanding performances of Chock and Bates but also the pairs Elijah Kama and Danny O'Shea as well as Amber Glenn and Alysa Liu, all of whom contributed significantly to the team's final score. Ultimately, the USA finished the competition with a total of 69 points, just one point ahead of Japan's team, which garnered 68 points. Italy secured the bronze medal with a total of 60 points.
