18 Customer Service Centers Start Operations in the Countryside of Ludza District
New customer service centers in Latvia's Ludza district aim to improve access to various services for rural residents.
In the Ludza district of Latvia, 18 new customer service centers have recently begun operations, providing essential services to residents of rural areas. These centers, managed by librarians, aim to make it easier for local inhabitants to access the services they require closer to home. According to Ilona Mekša, head of the Development and Planning Department of Ludza municipality, the initiative enhances convenience, speed, and equity in access to services for the community.
The introduction of these centers significantly reduces the need for residents to travel long distances for essential services, thereby saving time. The centers have improved environments with new equipment and modern technological solutions implemented in libraries. Residents can now access a variety of services, including submitting documents, receiving information regarding pensions, benefits, taxes, social assistance, and household registration processes, all within a more accessible and friendly local setting.
The initiative exemplifies the local government's commitment to improving public service availability in rural areas. By establishing these integrated customer service points, the municipality aims to foster better engagement with the community and enhance quality of life for the residents. This approach not only acknowledges the challenges faced by those living in less populated areas but also seeks to bridge the gap in service provision between urban and rural settings.
