Kyung Hee Cyber University Cultural Arts Management, 'Realizing the Social Value of Art through Recitation'
Kyung Hee Cyber University's Department of Cultural Arts Management is set to hold a recitation performance titled 'Reading Care' to explore the social value of art, taking place over two weeks in February 2025.
Kyung Hee Cyber University's Department of Cultural Arts Management and the Graduate School's Cultural Arts Creation Department are organizing a recitation performance called 'Reading Care' as part of their 2025 specialized project focusing on the social value of art. This event will occur online on February 14 and offline on February 21, showcasing over ten pieces created by approximately 20 participants who underwent a series of workshops from reading plays to writing stories. The online performance, directed by Professor Kang Yoon-joo, will be broadcast through Zoom and is open to anyone interested, while the offline performance will take place at Kyung Hee Cyber University's Neo-Nuri campus under the direction of theater director Kim Yoon-kyu. The participants, having worked under the guidance of Professor Nam Ji-soo from Dongguk University's Theater Department, have created works that reflect personal experiences and emotions, transforming them into artistic expressions that resonate as social dialogue. During the preparation for the performance, participants engaged in reading and discussing carefully selected plays centered on the theme of care, fostering empathy and comfort through their shared experiences. Professor Kang emphasized that the performance aims to weave individuals' stories into a project that serves as a platform for societal conversation through the medium of theater, hoping that the healing effects of art will resonate with both the participants and the audience.
