The curved saber of General José de San Martín is now on display at the Gran Hall of Symbols of the Granaderos Regiment in Argentina, attracting over 250 visitors on its first day.

Today marks the opening of an exhibition featuring the curved saber of General José de San Martín in the Gran Hall of Symbols at the Granaderos a Caballo Regiment in Palermo, Buenos Aires. This significant event celebrates the legacy of the "Liberator" and underscores the historical importance of both the saber and the institution that San Martín founded, which is tasked with preserving his legacy.

The exhibition attracted approximately 250 visitors on its first day, reflecting strong public interest in San Martín’s contributions to Argentine independence. The saber was returned to the Granaderos Regiment, emphasized by the Argentine Presidency as a crucial step in restoring an emblematic artifact to its rightful home. The facility had been declared a National Historic Monument in 1997, further enhancing its significance as a cultural heritage site.

Visitors will have the opportunity to see the saber during the same hours as it was previously exhibited at the Museo Histórico Nacional, from Wednesday to Sunday, 11 AM to 7 PM, including holidays. The display is part of the government’s ongoing cultural agenda to promote Argentine history and heritage, symbolically representing a victory in the ongoing "cultural battle" intended to reinforce national identity and pride.
